Whenever individuals live together discipline is necessary and this is especially true of an educational institution. This discipline is formative not repressive it helps the students to develop self control, which is the essence for a well-ordered and successful life. Therefore the school requires from its students to conform to certain regulations aimed at the growth of the entire school and more so at the individual students.
1. Every student should carry the school diary with him/her daily.
2. The warning bell before class is a signal for all to go to their respective class rooms. This should be done in silence.
3. No child is permitted to leave the school premises without the permission granted by the Principal and that too at the written request of the parent.
4. Students are expected to show respect to the members of the staff. They should stand up and greet them when they enter the class as well as when they leave the class room.
5. Students must show gentleness and courtesy to the companions. Refinement should distinguish every pupil of this school.
6. All should be habitually clean and neatly dressed. The School uniform is to be worn on all school days. A student who is improperly dressed may not be permitted into the class room or may even be sent home.
7. The Principal has the right to confiscate from the pupils books, news papers periodical and other items which may be considered objectionable.
8. It is compulsory for all the students to speak in English within the school campus.
9. Neither money nor articles should be borrowed or exchanged among the students.
10. No collection of money for any purpose what so ever is to be made and no meeting demonstration party or picnic be held without the prior permission of the Principal.
11. Proper care should be taken to the school property and pupil should not scratch or spoil desks or chair or damage any school furniture. Write or draw anything on the wall or in any way damage things belong to others is punishable. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who has done it. Anyone who sees something damaged should report the matter to the principal even if he/she does not know who has done it. No pupil should bring razor, blades or any sharp instrument to school.
12. The school is not responsible for articles or money lost. It is not advisable to wear any kind of valuable ornaments except simple studs for girls. Pupils below class V should not wear wrist watches in the school.
13. Students should behave in a refined manner. Where ever they go they should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should always greet the teachers, elders and friends in a pleasant and audible tone of voice whenever they meet them in the school or outside.
14. Use of Pan-Masala, Chewing-Gum, tattooing etc., are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
15. Mobile phone, CD, IPod, Tab etc., is not permitted in the school. If any of them is found with pupil it will be confiscated.
16. Cycles must be locked and kept only at the cycle stand. No vehicle should be driven in the school campus. While entering or leaving the school gate one must walk and not ride.
17. Parents are requested to check the diaries of the children daily and ensure that instructions are being followed by their children properly.
18. Enrollment of Mar Baselios School implies on the part of pupils and parents willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
19. The Principal has the right to suspend or withdraw any pupil without having to state any reason provided that the Principal is satisfied that such step is necessary in the interest of the school.
